Located in the scenic countryside of western Maryland, where we are licensed and inspected by the county, Albark Kennels is a family-run operation led by Alton and Barbara Kauffman. Since 2003, we’ve specialized in breeding Golden Retrievers, Goldendoodles, and Bernedoodles known for their outstanding temperament, intelligence, and companionship. All of our parent dogs have been Embark/DNA tested.
Our puppies are raised on our peaceful country farm and lovingly socialized with children, giving them a strong foundation to become well-adjusted members of your family. We are committed to ethical breeding practices, ensuring every puppy receives the care, attention, and early exposure they need to thrive in their forever homes.

Every so often, we have opportunities beyond our planned companion litters—purebred litters intended for future sires and dams, sires and dams ready for a forever home, and the occasional unexpected litter. These moments allow us to place our dogs in loving homes where they can live happy, thriving lives.
Albark Kennels is located in the rolling hills of beautiful Western Maryland. We are a premier breeder of Golden Retrievers, Golden Doodles, and Bernedoodles and all of them are raised by our family!
Raised on the farm in Western Maryland, all our puppies are raised by our family since 2003. We love our dogs and we’re sure you will too!
Your new puppy will be used to having children around. Our children actively help with feeding and socializing the puppies from the day they are born.
We started raising puppies in 2003, and have had many happy customers over the years, including many repeat buyers.
It brings us immense satisfaction to see one of our puppies grow into a friendly, sociable, and obedient companion. Our ongoing pursuit of the ideal breeding approach — from early socialization to nurturing healthy behavioral habits — is a journey we continue on every day.

Sweet Brody is back with us 💛 He was adopted by a loving family who absolutely adored him—but sadly, their other dog wasn’t ready to share the love. As much as it broke their hearts, they knew Brody deserved a home where he could be fully embraced.

We adopted our golden retriever, Baxter, from Albark almost 9 years ago and this past January I adopted a Bernese Mountain dog puppy from them. Both experiences have been wonderful. We drove out to the family farm to pick Baxter up and the facilities there are just beautiful. Great big, clean, airy Amish style barns full of fresh hay and happy dogs and puppies. It was heavenly. The second time we opted for delivery in Hagerstown, MD, and that went just as beautifully and was well worth it. Either way you decide to go, Albark makes getting your new puppy a wonderful and blessed experience. ❤️
I adopted Bean in June, after he went through the eight weeks of training with Destiny. I have to tell you he is the best dog ever he is so obedient, friendly, socialized and a sweetheart! It is so worth the money to have your puppy trained Bean once came to our house did not have one accident, knows all his commands, he does not jump or nip on anything. He is now six months old and he is still the perfect puppy. Destiny did a fantastic job! I have people all the time telling me what a good puppy he is even strangers on the street when we walk! Do not hesitate to get the training you will be glad that you did ! Albark Kennels is great to work with and Barbara is always there to answer a question if you have one!
