Payments & Policies

We aim to ensure a transparent and smooth adoption process. Please familiarize yourself with our policies to avoid misunderstandings later on.

Deposit (Reservation) Policy

To reserve a puppy, a non-refundable deposit of $200 is required. This can be paid through our online reservation system using a credit card. Alternatively, checks are accepted, but reservations are processed in the order deposits are received. The deposit will be applied toward the final adoption fee. Without a deposit, we cannot guarantee the availability of a specific puppy. Scheduling an appointment does not ensure a particular puppy’s availability.

Upon reserving online, a confirmation email will be sent. If a deposit is placed on a puppy already reserved, an alternative puppy selection or refund will be offered. The remaining balance (plus 6% tax and microchip registration) is due at pickup and can be paid via cash, check. Puppies will not be released until full payment has been received and verified. Pickup is preferred when the puppies are around 8 weeks old.

In the unlikely event something happens to a reserved puppy, options will be provided to select another available puppy, apply the deposit to a future litter, or receive a full refund. However, if the buyer cancels or fails to pick up the reserved puppy, the deposit will be used for its care and rehoming.

Health Guarantee and Warranties

Health Guarantee: The puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of purchase, having received immunizations and deworming as documented in the health record. If diagnosed with a major health issue by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours after leaving, a replacement puppy will be provided. Minor, correctable, or temporary conditions are not covered under this replacement policy.

1-Year Genetic Health Warranty: If diagnosed with a genetic disorder such as hip or elbow dysplasia (verified by OFA or PennHIP), pathological spinal disorder, luxating patella, or a persistent open fontanel within 1 year of purchase, a puppy of equal value will be provided as a replacement. This warranty does not cover common illnesses or accidents occurring after the puppy is in the buyer’s possession.

Supplement Recommendation: To support the puppy’s immune system and overall health, NuVet Plus supplements are strongly recommended. The health guarantee can be extended by an additional 12 months if NuVet Plus is administered as per the manufacturer’s recommendation for the duration of the guarantee period.

Buyer’s Responsibility: The buyer agrees to provide proper care, including appropriate feeding, housing, vaccinations, deworming, and both physical and emotional attention. The breeder is not liable for veterinary expenses incurred, and the buyer assumes full responsibility for any accidents or injuries.
